Some great European contenders

By englishshirts

Have you been to TK Maxx recently? if you have you may have come across some particularly nice shirts there. Well, i had to buy a couple. And these shirts are not English but German and Italian respectively.

The German shirt is made by Van Laack and is from their Royal range. The cotton it is made from is quite light and feels thin, but having said that its hand is very good. The collars are quite agressively cut away and the shirt has a sort of German sensibility meets Jermyn Street style about it.  the stitching is very good, and the buttons are MoP. For a price of £20 I am certainly happy.

The next shirt is from the Italian company Xacus and is from their red label range – and it is gorgeous! White collars and self colour double cuffs, along with beautiful buttons make this shirt, made with a fine 120s Thomas Mason fabric in a beautiful blue stripe, one of my favourites, I may even use the shape of the collar as inspiration for my next personal bespoke shirt.

I will certainly look for more from these manufacturers on my next visit!
